Phyllis McDaniel, flute & keyboards
born in Fargo, North Dakota, studied at Augsburg College in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Washington. She has been a professional accompanist, choral director, organist, and interior designer. She was a founding board member and served as president of the Seattle Flute Society.
Ove Hanson, oboe & English horn
hails from Beresford, South Dakota, graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls and received his master’s degree from the University of Washington. He served in the military at McCord Air Force Base and has toured Spain with the Camerata of Los Angeles. He is principal oboe of the Pacific Northwest Ballet and Auburn Symphony Orchestras.
Larey McDaniel, clarinet
born in Wallowa, Oregon, attended schools in Bremerton and studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio. He has a busy photography studio in Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, specializing in wedding and fine-art photography. He is a long time member of the Seattle Symphony.
Rodger Burnett, French horn
originally from Colorado. He received his Master’s at the University of Washington, has played with the Oregon Symphony, the New York City Opera touring orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic. An avid cyclist, he rode cross-country from Disneyland to Disney World in support of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He is principal horn of the Pacific Northwest Ballet and Auburn Symphony Orchestras.
Mona Butler, bassoon
grew up in Washington, DC, graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and received her masters from USC. She has performed with the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Grand Teton Festival Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic. She is principal bassoon of the Pacific Northwest Ballet and Auburn Symphony Orchestras.
